Invest Newcastle gets on board with Jet2.com for MIPIM 2019
IPIM is a 4-day real estate exhibition, conference and networking event with more than 26,000 participants and more than 5,000 investors in attendance.
Newcastle City Council and Invest Newcastle lead a private sector delegation to MIPIM each year to demonstrate the region’s strengths as one of the UK’s fastest growing places in which to invest, develop or locate. It provides opportunities to make connections with top investors and developers, both from overseas and the UK, to showcase the range of development opportunities in the North East.
The Jet2.com flight will take off on Monday 11 March 2019 (returning Friday 15 March) and marks the first time that a direct flight has flown from Newcastle to Nice at that time of year. As well as giving delegates direct access to the conference, it also means local holidaymakers can fly direct to the French Riviera from Newcastle with Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks.
This year a record 30 organisations from across the region attended, as part of the Newcastle Partnership, making it the biggest delegation to date.
The Newcastle at MIPIM Partnership delivers high impact and value for money for all partners, with an exciting line up of events and speakers. The MIPIM 2019 programme is well underway and will include a welcome event, a VIP investor dinner, a daily drinks reception, on stand events and three significant partnership events (working with partners such as the Northern Powerhouse). All partner organisations will have the opportunity to pitch their schemes and services to investors and developers from across the property and development sector.
Invest Newcastle has recently welcomed Kelly Gleadow, PR and Communications Manager (pictured). She is responsible for delivering PR and wider communications activity to attract inward investment into the area. She will be working closely with all partners to help them raise their profile at MIPIM 2019.
Catherine Walker, Inward Investment Director at Invest Newcastle said: “We are delighted to collaborate with Jet2.com to offer an exclusive direct flight for our partners. Last year we had a record year, with 30 partners (more than 80 delegates) flying to Nice to be part of one of the biggest events in the property industry calendar. This event is an ideal platform to attract inward investment and promote our vibrant region, helping to deliver economic growth and job creation. We are always looking at ways to improve the experience for our delegates and this will help make travel arrangements that little bit easier, ensuring MIPIM 2019 gets off to a flying start!”
Trevor Caplis, Manager – Charter and Airline Sales at Jet2.com said: “We are very pleased to be supporting the region by providing return flights to Nice for this major conference. Thanks to this partnership, delegates from the region will be able to fly direct from Newcastle Airport on our award-winning airline, and we are confident that the flight will be a huge success. As well as supporting local businesses, the flight means we are also giving holidaymakers the opportunity to experience the magic of Nice and the French Riviera from Newcastle Airport with Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks.”
Newcastle partnership delegates can take advantage of this direct service from Newcastle to Nice with the award-winning Jet2.com. It will include VIP check-in and 22kg hold baggage when booked through Invest Newcastle.
