Multi-million pound training centre will plug skills gap
The EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) Centre for Doctoral Training in Cloud Computing for Big Data, is part of a £106 million investment by Government to boost postgraduate training in engineering and scientific fields important to the UK’s economy.
Led by Newcastle University, the new Centre will be based on Science Central and will be jointly hosted by the University’s Schools of Computing Science and Mathematics and Statistics.
The Centre is expected to train more than 50 PhD students over the next eight years, and is funded by EPSRC, Newcastle University and Industry partners including Red Hat and Microsoft. We look forward to bringing you more news about the new centre over coming months.
