Helix Fest Brings the Community Together

Newcastle Helix came to life as occupiers, visitors and local businesses gathered for Helix Fest – a celebration of community, collaboration and the people who make the site what it is. The event transformed the green space at the heart of Helix into a welcoming destination where people could take a break from their day, connect with others and enjoy the site in a different way.

With music creating a lively atmosphere, visitors made the most of the outdoor space from table tennis on the grass, socialising and simply enjoying time together. The event highlighted the important role that shared spaces play in creating a thriving business community.

Helix Fest also shone a spotlight on local businesses, bringing together food vendors, community organisations and partners from across the region. By showcasing the fantastic businesses on our doorstep, the event helped strengthen local connections while introducing occupiers and visitors to services, experiences and opportunities they may not have otherwise discovered.

A standout feature was the Public Living Room – a simple, agenda-free space designed to encourage conversation and connection. Throughout the day, people naturally came together to chat, relax and meet new faces, demonstrating the value of creating environments where community can develop organically.
